Greensand for Gardening

Greensand is often used by organic gardeners as a natural source of potassium. It is available as a sand or sediment type amendment for your soil that can be added as part of the soil prepartion before planting or added later as a top dressing. It comes in various formulations based on the amount of sand, etc. that is mixed in, you can find it as diluted as 0-0-0.1, but it has many trace elements as well.

Earth Box Planter - Garden System Review

The Earth Box Garden System has been around since 2001. If you are looking for a good way to do container gardening for larger plants like vegetables, including container tomatoes and peppers and the like, you will need a container that holds at least a couple of cubic feet of soil. The EarthBox is just the right size, measuring about 29×13x10.5 in. It’s a totally self contained garden system. Raised Bed Garden Corner Brackets

One of the most inexpensive ways to build a raised bed is of course to build your own raised bed. We discuss some techniques for this in the article on raised garden bed construction.

But if you are using lumber to make your raised garden beds, the most difficult thing about the construction is securing the corners. With a lot of moist soil in place, these joints need to be securely fastened. The ideal way to do this is with corner brackets. These provide not only a very strong corner joint, but give some esthetic appeal to the project as well. And if you are looking at making a bed deeper than 12 inches, you will also need to address connecting 2 pieces of lumber together as well.
